There is something magical about playing with water. We tend to like the sensory feeling of warm water running between our fingers... Obviesly when it's warm enough. My kids have egzema so I avoid water play when it's cold.
I love when my kids play with water because it means that they will be occupied for a long time. Scoops, measuring vessels, mixing colours, playing with the fountain, making potions are just few of the favourite activities.
I do try to keep the water tray outside as it can get very messy... Oh, and I use waterproof aprones and onesies so I don't have to change the kids after.
