Your child will be expected to use concrete objects and pictorial representation, including those involving numbers, quantities and measures.

Tips for problem solving

  • Let your child to use a resources that they want.
  • Take a picture and/or video of them explaining what they are doing/reasoning.
  • Ask your child to explain their thinking.
  • Offer different strategies if your child gets stuck.
  • Do little evaluation when you complete the task. Talk about what went well, what went wrong and how can we get better next time.

Count first in 10s to get as close to the desired number as possible. When you can add or take away another ten - count in ones untill you grt to your number. I do recommend to double check the answer using column method.
