Explain the Symbols

In this goal the most difficult bit is to use < and > signs correctly. I tend to draw little beaks first and ask: "Which bird is bigger and is going to eat the smaller one?"

Comparing Capacity/Volume

Check capacity of your containers. Which one can hold more? Don't forget to use the right symbols.

Comparing Lengths

Put them right next to each other to see which one is taller.

Mass

Try to use the words grams and kilograms. Ask the old joke: What do you think is heavier one kilogram of stones or one kilogram of feathers?

This set is amazing to start your little lab. I don't recommend to buy coloured test tubes, because it is better to use food colouring in the water. Your child will have way more fun mixing liquids and colours when they can see them well. I have few coloured (that I thought are very cute) but non of my kids liked them...
