# Using mathematical vocabulary to describe position, direction and movement, including movement in a straight line and distinguishing between rotation as a turn and in terms of right angles for quarter, half and three-quarter turns.

### Discovering Rotation as a Turn

The most important part is to identify that quarter turn is a right angle. You always move clockwise. You can join this goal with learning the clock - it might be easier for your child to see the quaters and half.

### Describing Position with Football

While describing position use vocabulary: above, next to, below, top right, bottom left, between. OK, I I don’t usually put links to other websites, but if you have a football fan at home than you will love it! It is from Premier League Primary Stars

### Chessboard

Place a piece on a board and describe the position. White - 4B and black 6D.

### Play BrainBox Maths

I really love it to practice or learn math’s facts. I use it with an abacus (to count points), 30 seconds timer - instead of 10seconds that came with the box. I found out that 10s. is not enough YET, for my 6 years old to memorise the page.
